Patricia Rooney, ’77
President
Patti Rooney is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a private practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She performs all types of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, and has earned special recognition for breast reconstruction and skin cancer removal. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Rooney serves as clinical assistant professor of surgery at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
After receiving her B.S. from Hillsdale College in 1977, Dr. Rooney attended the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, receiving her medical degree in 1982. She spent a 1-year internship at the Chicago Osteopathic Hospital before beginning her general surgery residency at the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine in 1984. She then served a 2-year fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Fort Lauderdale. After completion of her fellowship, she was invited to join the staff and stayed at Cleveland Clinic Florida before entering private practice.
