HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College students are back for another fall semester, which means the beginning of another exciting year of plays, concerts, galleries and other fine arts events that are open to you, members of our local community.

After Promontory: 150 Years of Transcontinental Railroading
Wednesday, August 28 – Sunday, October 6 | Daughtrey Art Gallery
To mark the 150th anniversary of the beginning of America’s railroad era, the Center for Railroad Photography & Art has launched a special project, “After Promontory: 150 Years of Transcontinental Railroading. The initiative includes a book, conference, and traveling exhibitions that examine the significance and lasting impact of the transcontinental railroads on the American West.
Guest Recital: John McLaughlin Williams, violin
Monday, September 9 | 8:00 p.m. | Christ Chapel
Grammy award-winning conductor and violinist John McLaughlin Williams returns to campus to perform a program of works for violin and piano in the magnificent setting of Christ Chapel. He is joined in this performance by pianist Matthew Bengtson, Associate Professor of Music at the University of Michigan.
Dance Kaleidoscope (PAS)
Saturday, September 14 | 7:30 p.m. | Markel Auditorium
Dance Kaleidoscope presents an evening of dynamic works showcasing the company’s versatility, athleticism, and artistic depth. Works presented will include Janice Rosario’s Peak/Valley (2024) and David Hochoy’s award-winning Rhapsody in Blue (2006), celebrating the centennial of the famous piece by George Gershwin. American Dance Theatre company member Sean Aaron Carmon’s newest world premiere, as well as Dance Kaleidoscope’s new Artistic Director Joshua Blake Carter’s three distinct works,
