Hillsdale College Hosts 2024 Homecoming Celebration
College welcomes alumni, students for football and activities
HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College hosted its annual Homecoming Celebration Oct. 11-12. Students, faculty, alumni, and their families visited campus for a football game, tailgate, parade, orchestra concert, and more.
“Whether they graduated recently or long ago, we are always excited to welcome our alumni back for Homecoming,” said Colleen McGinness, executive director of alumni relations. “This shared celebration gives alumni from all over the opportunity to connect — or reconnect — and build a lasting community.”

The 25th Annual Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet took place on Friday in the Searle Center. This year’s inductees were Ian Redpath ’72 (track and field), Steve Rentschler ’78 (football, posthumous), Al Huge ’88 (football), DeShawn Meadows ’95 (track and field), and the 2006 Hillsdale College Volleyball Team.
On Saturday, the College hosted a dedication ceremony for the Phi Sig Pavilion, which features a multipurpose building, a kitchen, a two-sided fireplace, and a patio with a grill and bar. The pavilion will host orientation events, performances, alumni reunions, classes, and more.
Following the ceremony and a tailgate, Charger football played Walsh University. Alumni enjoyed the “Fifth Quarter” from the President’s Hospitality Suite and Lounge and watched students compete in the annual Mock Rock Dance Competition to take home the coveted Homecoming trophy.
