Hillsdale College Hosts Fifth Annual Trunk-or-Treat
Hillsdale community members were invited to Trick-or-Treat from cars decorated by Hillsdale College students.
HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Student Athlete Advisory Committee hosted its fifth annual Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, Oct. 27. Hillsdale College athletic teams, clubs, dorms, fraternities, and sororities set up booths with candy and games, allowing children in the local community to go trick-or-treating safely outdoors.
“Our goal is to connect college students and the Athletic Department with ways to give back to our community,” said Nikki Walbright, faculty advisor of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. “We appreciate the students and community members whose hard work helped make this event a success.”

Hillsdale College students representing 24 different campus groups handed out candy and coordinated games at sports-themed Trick-or-Treat stations. Several hundred children attended throughout the afternoon. The committee accepted candy donations throughout the week in addition to candy provided by each participating group.
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosts the event as a fundraiser for Make-a-Wish, the official NCAA philanthropy for Division II athletics. Community members contributed about $350 during this year’s Trunk-or-Treat.
“We are happy to provide this as a free event to the community, and we are so grateful that they give back and help us reach our yearly fundraising goals,” Walbright said.
