Hillsdale College Announces January Fine Arts Events
Upcoming events include an art exhibit, a guest piano recital, and the annual concerto/aria competition.
HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College is pleased to announce another exciting month of plays, concerts, and other fine arts events open to members of our local community.

Art Exhibit: “Story Beautiful”
Friday, January 24, through Sunday, March 23 | Daughtrey Art Gallery (Fine Arts Building)
“Story Beautiful: Selections from the Stewart Collection” presents works from a private collection of contemporary realist drawings and paintings, telling the ancient and modern stories of humanity—beautifully. The exhibition features unrefined studies, new master drawings, and oil and tempera paintings across academic traditions that speak to nature’s transcendent beauty, and the whimsical joys and tragic sorrows of life.
An opening reception will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, in the Daughtrey Art Gallery. For gallery hours, click here.
Sunday, Jan. 26: Annual Concerto/Aria Competition

Sunday, Jan. 26: Choral Evensong Service
6 p.m. | Christ Chapel
Join the Hillsdale College Chapel Choir for a celebration of Choral Evensong. This centuries-old service features scripture, choral anthems, and prayers.
Friday, Jan. 31: Guest Piano Recital
7:30 p.m., McNamara Rehearsal Hall (Howard Music Building)
Hungarian-American pianist Peter Klimo, prizewinner of the Bartok World Piano Competition, the Bösendorfer International Piano Competition, and the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition, will present a program in the grand tradition of the virtuoso, including Liszt’s “Réminiscences de Don Juan” and Rachmaninov’s “Variations on a Theme of Corelli.”
