Classmates from 1965 and 1975 Reunite on Campus
Hillsdale College Alumni Relations hosted the College’s annual 50- and 60-year reunion during the week of Spring Convocation.
HILLSDALE, Mich. — Members of the Hillsdale College 1975 and 1965 graduating classes returned to campus from April 9-11 to celebrate their 50- and 60-year class reunions. The three-day event included campus and Halter Center tours, dinner with live music, cocktail receptions, trivia, and the opportunity to attend classes and campus events. More than 50 guests from the classes of 1965 and 1975 attended, as well as some from surrounding years.

“They had a chance to reconnect with their classmates and their alma mater in a very special way,” said Colleen McGinness, executive director of alumni relations. “Many hadn’t set foot on campus in years, and they were excited to meet students, sit in on classes, and reunite with old college friends.”
The highlight of the event was Hillsdale College’s Spring Convocation, at which the classes of 1975 and 1965 were recognized.
“Having 50- and 60-year alumni participate in the College’s Spring Convocation is always a special moment, and we heard from multiple guests how touching and emotional that experience was for them,” McGinness said. “It also shows our students, especially our graduating seniors, what it means to be a lifelong part of the Hillsdale College community.”
Alumni also had the opportunity to attend various campus events, including a talk by Major General Bill Matz, the dedication of the Salmans Golf Performance Center, and a screening of the new “Raffaella Ballet.”
On-campus class reunions began in 1989 and originally took place the week of Commencement. Reunions now take place the week of Spring Convocation so alumni can see campus in full swing, attend classes, and meet current students.
In addition to the 50- and 60-year class reunions, The Hillsdale College Alumni Association and Alumni Relations Office hosts several events throughout the year for Hillsdale College alumni. These events include Homecoming, White and Blue Weekend, and the Alumni National Tour.
