Hillsdale College Announces Nimrod Complex Membership Opportunities
The building is the newest addition to Hillsdale’s Halter Shooting Sports Education Center.
HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College announced membership opportunities for the Nimrod Complex, the new indoor/outdoor pistol and rifle facility at the College’s Halter Shooting Sports Education Center. Memberships are available to members of the public, with various discounts and benefits depending on membership level.
“The Nimrod Complex allows us to offer even more opportunities for education, training, competition, and recreation for shooters of all levels,” said Range Director Matt Little. “We hope that these new membership options will enable even more people to enjoy the shooting sports at the Halter Center.”

Memberships at the Nimrod Complex are available to members of the public, with discounts, event invitations, and other benefits varying by membership tier.
The 62,000-square-foot facility includes 60 10-meter indoor precision lanes, 20 30-yard indoor archery lanes (with the capacity for 80), 24 50-meter indoor/outdoor smallbore lanes, 12 50-foot indoor/outdoor covered retractable centerfire pistol lanes, a 24-person classroom for CPL and college courses, seating for 300 in the main room, dedicated team storage space for precision and archery, and a mezzanine viewing area overlooking the ranges.
Located in the Nimrod Complex, Liberty & Company Outfitters offers concierge Federal Firearms License services, handgun and rifle training, and Concealed Pistol License classes as well as a pro shop stocking apparel, range essentials, ammunition, and accessories.
The Halter Center’s other shooting facilities include eight American trap fields, five International/Olympic bunker trap fields, four international skeet fields, a 25-station sporting clays course, an enclosed and climate-controlled five-stand range, and an international archery range. The Center’s Ailes Action Shooting Range features five 30-yard pistol bays, a 40-yard pistol bay, and a 100-yard rifle range.
The Center also welcomes visitors year-round to its AcuSport Grille, located inside the AcuSport Lodge. Open to both shooters and the public for lunch, dinner, events, and catering, the Grille offers a menu featuring locally sourced ingredients. For more information, visit acusportgrille.com. About the John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center
The Halter Center is a state-of-the-art shooting facility located five miles from the Hillsdale College campus. The Center’s 125 range acres are home to American and international trap and skeet fields, an international archery range, a sporting clays course, an action shooting range, an enclosed and climate-controlled five-stand range, and a 62,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor rifle and pistol complex. The Center also features the AcuSport Lodge and Grille and six cottages with a total of 24 guest suites to accommodate overnight lodging.
Opened in 2008, the Center aims to introduce individuals to shooting sports and encourage interest across all levels of experience. The home of the USA Shooting National Team since 2019, the Halter Center hosts USA Shooting skeet and trap nationals and Junior Olympic development camps and championships. The Center is also the home of Hillsdale’s national championship-winning shotgun and action shooting teams. The Center is open to the public, offering annual range memberships as well as classes, camps, and other programming focused on the principles of the Constitution and the shooting sports.
