Hillsdale College Announces Michael Knowles as 2027 Commencement Speaker
Political commentator will address the class of 2027.
HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College is pleased to announce that Michael Knowles, political commentator and host of “The Michael Knowles Show” at The Daily Wire, will address the class of 2027 at the College’s 175th Commencement ceremony in May.
“Michael Knowles is witty, quick, and profound,” said Hillsdale College President Larry P. Arnn. “He studied serious things at Yale, and he has improved his knowledge and his faith by intense effort as he has built a career of public commentary. His commentaries are an instruction and an entertainment. He is an example of man keeping his bearings in a shifting, dangerous, and opportune world.”

Michael Knowles is the host of The Michael Knowles Show at The Daily Wire and The Book Club at PragerU. He received a B.A. from Yale University, where he majored in history and Italian literature, and he has lectured at colleges and universities across the country. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Fr. Benedict Groeschel Award from Good Counsel Homes, the Conservative Mind Award from The American Conservative magazine, and the Courage Under Fire Award from Regina Caeli Academy. In 2025, he received an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Ave Maria University. He has written for numerous publications, including the Claremont Review of Books, the Daily Caller, and the American Mind, and is the author of “Speechless: Controlling Words, Controlling Minds.”
The ceremony will be closed to the public but available to view on livestream.
