“Sanctus” from Fauré’s Requiem
The Sanctus has been part of the service of Holy Communion from the first century AD, and its Jewish roots go back even further. The first part of the chant is based upon Isaiah 6:3 and Daniel 7:10. The second part is based on Matthew 21:9. The chant unites our voices with those of the saints and angels in heaven into one song of praise of God.
SANCTUS, Sanctus, Sanctus, Dominus Deus Sabaoth. Pleni sunt caeli et terra gloria tua. Hosanna in excelsis. Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini. Hosanna in excelsis.
Translation: HOLY, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of Thy glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
Easter Prayer

Eternal Son of the Father, you are the image of the invisible God, and in the fullness of time, you entered into the world as one of us, glorifying our human nature by making it your own: restore the image of God in us by granting us a right faith in you, that we may enjoy the miracle of your incarnation.
Jesus Christ, Savior of the world, who for the joy set before you consented to be handed over by sinful men to be mocked and scourged and spit upon and lifted high upon a cross for our redemption: cleanse us with your atoning embrace, that we might die to sin and hold fast to you forever.
Exalted Lord, Son of David, you trampled down death by death, restored life to those in the tomb, and are exalted on high to reign at your Father’s right hand: grant us your empowering Spirit to conform us to your likeness, that we might at last attain to your eternal glory.
Grant us the grace of your Easter Victory, O Christ, that we might be free of sin, live for righteousness, and attain to the glory of the saints in light, for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
