CCA II: The Economics of College Sports

As traditionally understood, the primary purpose of college sports is to complement classroom learning by developing good character among student athletes. Fulfilling this purpose has become increasingly complicated as college sports has developed into a multibillion-dollar industry. This second CCA of the 2026-2027 academic year, co-sponsored by the Ludwig von Mises Lecture Series, will consider the economics of college sports, including the effects of athlete compensation, as well as potential reforms.
