Certain that Hillsdale was the place for him, Chris Pandolfo, class of 2015, didn’t apply to any other colleges during senior year of high school. He graduated with a double major in politics and economics, and now works at Conservative Review where he researches and discusses the national political scene.

Learning How to Live

“As a high school senior, I was dead-set against coming to Hillsdale College,” Victoria Fassett confesses. “My mom actually forced me to visit the campus.”

After arriving on campus for freshman orientation, Hillsdale has been exceeding Claudia Sladick’s expectations. She aspires to study Politics and Economics and has already gotten involved in groups such as the Conservative Women’s Club and Praxis.

Dr. Charles N. Steele

Dr. Charles N. Steele holds the Herman and Suzanne Dettwiler Chair in Economics at Hillsdale College, and regularly teaches the “Austrian Economics” class, as well as “History of Economic Thought.”

Professor Lewis Butler

Professor Lewis Butler is in his second year as an adjunct professor in Hillsdale’s Economics department. A recent graduate of the college, Professor Butler returned to academia when he received a call from department head Dr. Gary Wolfram in the summer of 2012.

Derek Fields

Senior Derek Fields is one of Hillsdale’s most accomplished students to emerge from the economics department. Currently a part-time student, Derek spends the remainder of his time working remote for CrossFit, a fitness company based in Santa Cruz where he worked this past summer, as well as training at the CrossFit gym in Jonesville.
