Benjamin Holscher

Benjamin Holscher is a senior from Hobart, NY, studying history and business administration. Ben is the founder and director of the non-profit organization A Few Good Men, the president of the Hillsdale chapter of the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, an RA at Koon Dorm, a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters, a leader for the Intervarsity Hillsdale Christian Fellowship, and a student driver for speakers who come to Hillsdale’s campus.

Aaron Schepps

Aaron Schepps, a senior from Chandler, Arizona, is an outstanding example of the type of well-balanced, active, and successful student that emerges from the Hillsdale College English department.

Josiah Kollmeyer

Josiah started seriously considering Hillsdale after going on Dr. Whalen’s trip to England, “heaven on earth.” Seeing the level of learning expected from the students and being given the opportunity to wrestle with great questions convinced him that he needed to attend Hillsdale College. “As far as high school educations go, I got a decent one, but before that trip I had never tried to interact with great ideas like we do here—those sorts of questions I later learned are amazingly asked here all the time.”

Megan Fogt

Hillsdale Charger basketball player Megan Fogt was just named as a Second Team Academic All-American, becoming the first woman in the history of the program to receive such an award. She is making big plays on and off the court, and her humility through it all is a true testament of her journey to the top.

Physics and the Liberal Arts

For his humble and soft-spoken nature, Viktor Rozsa, a senior Physics and Mathematics double major, has surprising achievements and facts about his life: he was born in Switzerland, speaks fluent Hungarian, plays a cello like a virtuoso, and he embarked on his college career shortly after turning seventeen.

Paul Mittermeier

Paul Mittermeier, Student Federation’s Greek representative for the freshman class, first heard about Hillsdale College through his involvement with the Cincinnati Tea Party and the local liberty groups in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. As a high school junior, he was just beginning the college search but didn’t have a fixed idea of what he wanted in a school yet: “I kind of had an idea of a larger school in a city as my ideal vision, but at the same time, I was also dreading progressive academia and the dreaded idea of ‘indoctrination,’ so I wanted primarily a school that had a similarity of view in values.”

Derek Fields

Senior Derek Fields is one of Hillsdale’s most accomplished students to emerge from the economics department. Currently a part-time student, Derek spends the remainder of his time working remote for CrossFit, a fitness company based in Santa Cruz where he worked this past summer, as well as training at the CrossFit gym in Jonesville.

The Hillsdale House

The Hillsdale House is a greenish colored brick townhouse nestled in the middle of a quiet residential neighborhood in the heart of Washington, D.C.
