Hillsdale College Announces February Fine Arts Events
Upcoming events include a performance by the Arianna String Quartet, a Hillsdale College Symphony Orchestra Concert, and the Tower Players’ production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College is pleased to announce another exciting month of plays, concerts, and other fine arts events open to members of our local community.

Art Exhibit: “Story Beautiful”
Friday, Jan. 24, through Sunday, March 23 | Daughtrey Art Gallery (Fine Arts Building)
“Story Beautiful: Selections from the Stewart Collection” presents works from a private collection of contemporary realist drawings and paintings, telling the ancient and modern stories of humanity — beautifully. The exhibition features unrefined studies, new master drawings, and oil and tempera paintings across academic traditions that speak to nature’s transcendent beauty and the whimsical joys and tragic sorrows of life. Sundays: Choral Evensong Chapel Services
6 p.m. Feb. 9 and 16 | Christ Chapel
Join the Hillsdale College Chapel Choir for a celebration of Choral Evensong. This centuries-old service features Scripture, choral anthems, and prayers.
Friday, Feb. 7: Faculty Recital

Saturday, Feb. 15: Emilya Smyk Senior Conducting Concert

Saturday, Feb. 15: Arianna String Quartet with Daniel Kuehler, piano
8 p.m. | Markel Auditorium (Fine Arts Building)
Hailed for outstanding musicianship, the Arianna String Quartet has established itself as one of America’s finest chamber ensembles. This program will feature quartets by Joseph Haydn and Dmitri Shostakovich, as well as a performance of César Franck’s “Piano Quintet in F minor” with Hillsdale faculty member Daniel Kuehler. Ticket reservations are required.
Saturday, Feb. 22: Hillsdale College Symphony Orchestra
8 p.m. | Christ Chapel
The orchestra will perform Mendelssohn’s “Hebrides Overture” and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 in F Major, Op. 93. The performance will feature pianist Hannah Wong, a winner of the 2025 Annual Student Concerto/Aria Competition.
Tower Players Production: A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare (Spring Parents Weekend)
7:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, through Saturday, March 1 | 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2 | Markel Auditorium
When the king and queen of the fairies argue, mistaken identity and unrequited love are the order of the day. Four young lovers flee Athens, only to find themselves entangled in fairy mischief in an enchanted wood. A troupe of craftsmen rehearse a play worthy of the duke’s wedding but succeed only in comedic chaos. The Tower Players invite you to experience the enchantment of one of Shakespeare’s most revered comedies. Directed by Christopher Matsos. Ticket reservations required.
