Hillsdale College Hosts Annual Maintenance Department Breakfast
The event raised more than $500 for Toys for Tots.
HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Maintenance Department hosted its annual Christmas Breakfast at the Fowler Maintenance Building on Dec. 12. Faculty and staff were invited to enjoy a buffet-style meal as a fundraiser for Toys for Tots.
“This Christmas season, we remember with gratitude the many gifts we have been given,” said Dave Billington, assistant vice president of facilities and capital projects. “This event is an opportunity for us to share the blessings of Christmas.”

The breakfast, which was prepared by members of the Maintenance Department, included biscuits and gravy, bacon and eggs, sausage, hash browns, chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes, and fruit. A box at the end of the buffet collected contributions for Toys for Tots, an organization that provides Christmas gifts for children in need. Attendees contributed more than $500.
“Toys for Tots is a great organization. It is run by the Marine Corps Reserves and serves children in our local community,” said Billington. “Those are the people we most want to help.”
The annual Christmas Breakfast is a cherished tradition of the Hillsdale College Maintenance Department, exemplifying the College’s commitment to fostering community and generosity. For around 30 years, this event has not only brought joy to faculty and staff but also provided significant contributions to Toys for Tots, helping children in the local Hillsdale area experience the blessings of Christmas.
