Hillsdale College Hosts Athletic Summer Camps

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Athletics Department hosted athletic camps throughout the month of June. Participating campers had the opportunity to learn from and train with Hillsdale College’s Division II basketball, football, cross country and track, and volleyball coaches and athletes.

The Women’s Basketball Team hosted a Women’s Elite Basketball Camp, during which participants worked with Hillsdale College coaches and took a tour of campus. The team also hosted a Youth Camp for grades 1-8. Campers learned fundamental basketball skills from Hillsdale College team members and coaches.

The Charger Football Team hosted an Honor Roll Camp for grades 7-12. Participating athletes were tested in football movements and skills.

The Men’s Basketball Team welcomed campers for a Youth Basketball Camp for grades 1-8. Participants learned about fundamental basketball skills from Hillsdale College coaches and team members.

The Cross Country and Track and Field Teams hosted a Rising Star Camp for ages 12-18. Each camper received training focused on drills, demonstrations, and training theory. Campers also participated in flexibility and weight training sessions and had the opportunity to train in a specific discipline, including throws, sprints, hurdles, middle distance, and jumps.

The Athletics Department will offer several other camps throughout the rest of the summer:

  • July 14-17: Volleyball Individual Camp
  • July 15-17: Volleyball Youth Camp
  • July 10-12: Rising Stars Camp for Cross Country/Track and Field
  • July 31-Aug. 2: Offensive Development Camp
  • Aug. 3: Men’s Basketball Elite Camp
  • Aug. 18: Charger Youth Football Camp
  • Sept. 1: Baseball Prospect Camp
