HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College’s athletic teams hosted youth camps throughout the month of July. Participating campers had the opportunity to learn from and train with Hillsdale’s NCAA Division II coaches and athletes.

The softball team held two summer showcase camps for high school girls ages 14-18. Campers received position and offense instruction and competed in showcase games.

The volleyball team hosted four camps. Two team camps gave varsity girls high school volleyball teams a chance to learn college-level drills while competing against each other. An individual camp gave girls ages 8-12 intensive training in fundamentals, skills, and offensive and defensive strategies. A youth camp gave campers in grades 4-7 an overview of the core volleyball skills, lots of practice, and a chance to learn by watching high school and college players.

The track and field team hosted a camp for athletes ages 12-18, using a combination of drills, demonstrations and training theory to enhance performance. Campers could choose from among all disciplines and receive state-of-the-art training using the latest, most successful training methods.

The Athletics Department will offer more camps in August:

Men’s Basketball:

  • August 2: Elite Camp
  • August 4-6: Offensive Development Camp

Football:

  • August 17: Youth Football Camp
