Hillsdale College Hosts Tom Klix Memorial Sporting Clays Classic
HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College’s Alumni Association Board hosted its annual Tom Klix Memorial Sporting Clays Classic last weekend at Hillsdale’s John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center.
“I look forward to this event every year,” said Colleen McGinness, executive director of Alumni Relations. “It is a great opportunity for participants to sharpen their skills while supporting the shooting sports at Hillsdale College.”

Participants competed in a tournament as individuals or on four-man teams on Hillsdale’s challenging 23-station sporting clays course. The event also featured a luncheon and an awards ceremony. All proceeds will go toward shooting sports operations at Hillsdale College.
Fifteen teams competed. The winning teams were:
- First place: Perry Hintz, Josh Corbin, Paul Downs, Tom Strasser
- Second place: Tyler Nye, Rob Sayles, Matt Weaver, Natalee Weaver
The event was renamed in 2020 memory of Tom Klix ’75, who was among the first donors to the Halter Center.
