Hillsdale College Launches Online Course, “The Second World Wars”
Seven-part course taught by Victor Davis Hanson and Larry P. Arnn
Hillsdale, Mich. – Hillsdale College announces the launch of its newest online course, “The Second World Wars.” The course is the College’s latest addition to its substantial collection of free online courses.
The course is taught by Victor Davis Hanson, the Wayne and Marcia Buske distinguished fellow in history, with an introduction by Hillsdale College president Larry P. Arnn. Based on Dr. Hanson’s book, The Second World Wars: How the First Global Conflict Was Fought and Won, this course analyzes Allied and Axis investments and strategies that led one side to win and the other to lose. It also explains how the war’s diverse theaters, belligerents, and ways of fighting came eventually to define a single war.
“Victor Hanson is a great man and one of the most important scholars of our time,” said Larry P. Arnn, president of Hillsdale College. “You should read his book, because it might be his greatest achievement, and that would really be saying something.”
