Hillsdale College Shooting Sports Center Announces Summer Camp Programming
Halter Shooting Sports Education Center offers programming for couples, women
Hillsdale, Mich. – Hillsdale College’s John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center announces its summer camp programming for 2019. Designed for all experience levels, the Ladies and Couples for Liberty camps are an important part of the Halter Center’s mission to educate citizens about shooting sports.
“The participants gain confidence as they learn about firearms education and practice their skills,” said Gena Grant, program coordinator. “The camaraderie built within the group blends perfectly with the professional instruction to create a safe and fun environment.”
Thanks to generous sponsorship from Winchester, Smith & Wesson, and Springfield Armory, the two camps, “Ladies for Liberty” and “Couples for Liberty,” run from late May to early September. The programs are available as “mini” four-day camps or as six-day retreats.
Participants will learn the basics of handgun and shotgun shooting and attend lectures by Hillsdale faculty on the importance of the Second Amendment and the Constitution. Accommodations include rooms on campus at the Dow Center Hotel, catered meals and receptions, a shuttle to and from Detroit Metropolitan Airport, and the use of firearms and ammunition. Participants may also bring their own firearms.
The camps will run over the following dates:
| Camp | Date | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Ladies for Liberty Mini Camp | May 30 to June 2, 2019 | $1,000 |
