Hillsdale College Students Compete at 2024 Olympic Shotgun Trials in Tucson

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Members of the Hillsdale College Shotgun Team competed at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials for Shotgun in Tucson, AZ, from March 11 to 17. Hosted at the Tucson Trap and Skeet Club, shooters competed in the second part of the Olympic Trials. The 2024 Olympic Trap team was selected on March 16, and the 2024 Olympic Skeet team was selected on March 17.

“The team had a very strong performance at this year’s Olympic Trials,” said Caitlin Connor Royer, assistant program development and competition manager and assistant coach for Hillsdale College’s Halter Center. “They have been working particularly hard this year, and it is exciting to see that dedication pay off.”

Results from male athletes include:

• Jordan Sapp (’26) –– Second Place Junior Men’s Skeet; selected for 2024 Junior World Cup and World Championship Team
• Josh Corbin (’25) –– Third Place Junior Men’s Skeet; selected for 2024 Junior World Cup and World Championship Team
• Kyle Fleck (’25) –– Third Place Collegiate Men’s Skeet
• Davis Hay (’26) –– Ninth Place Junior Men’s Skeet
• Dale Royer (assistant shotgun coach) –– Seventeenth Place Men’s Trap

Results from female athletes include:

• Madeline Corbin (’27) –– Second Place Junior Women’s Skeet; selected for 2024 Junior World Cup and World Championship Team
• Caitlin Connor Royer (assistant shotgun coach) –– Eighth Place Women’s Skeet
• Ava Downs (’27) –– Third Place Junior Women’s Trap; selected for 2024 Junior World Cup and World Championship Team
• Ida Brown (’24) –– Tenth Place Women’s Trap
• Sophia Bultema (’26) — Third Place Women’s Para Trap
