Hillsdale College Tower Players Perform ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’
The play is one of William Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies.
HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale College Tower Players performed William Shakespeare’s play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” Feb. 26 through March 2. The play was the third Tower Players production this season.

“‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ is one of Shakespeare’s most revered comedies,” said Christopher Matsos, director of the play and chairman of the Theatre Department. “It was a pleasure to bring the Tower Players production to the campus community on Parents Weekend. Our productions rely on the dedication of students from many disciplines, working together not only on stage, but in scenic construction, lighting, costumes, and other areas. It is such a gift to work with exceptional students and faculty colleagues.”
In “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” when the king and queen of the fairies argue, mistaken identity and unrequited love are the order of the day. Four young lovers flee Athens, only to find themselves entangled in fairy mischief in an enchanted wood. A troupe of craftsmen rehearses a play worthy of the Duke’s wedding but succeed only in comedic chaos.
