Hillsdale Wind Symphony Performs Fall Concert
Students, faculty, staff, and members of the local community performed several festive holiday works.
HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Hillsdale Wind Symphony, directed by Adjunct Professor of Music Robert A. Livingston, performed its fall concert in Markel Auditorium on Dec. 10. Students, faculty, staff, and members of the community attended.
“The Hillsdale Wind Symphony offers a special opportunity for musicians from the College and the community to perform together,” Livingston said. “I hope the audience enjoyed this festive fall concert as much as we did.”

The performance included Eric Whitacre’s setting of “Goodnight Moon” and Brooke Pierson’s “Psalm 74,” which is based on Pavel Chesnokov’s communion hymn “Salvation is Created.” The Wind Symphony also performed several Christmas pieces, including “C’est Noel!” by Andre Jutras, “Ring the Bells on Christmas Day!” by Ed Huckeby, and “A Christmas Festival” by Leroy Anderson, which all weave together familiar Christmas songs.
The Hillsdale Wind Symphony is open to members of the community as well as Hillsdale College students, faculty, and staff. The group rehearses from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesdays in the Howard Music Building and performs standard band and wind ensemble repertoire with full instrumentation.
