Projects
The Parents Association Steering Committee (PASC) has chosen the North Library expansion as its focus for this year’s Parents Fund.
North Library
If you have visited the Hillsdale College campus recently, you will have noticed several major construction projects in the north quad. These projects—including a new graduate school building, student union façade, library expansion, and welcome center—are designed to meet the growing demands on campus facilities from students and visitors while reflecting the beauty of the high things we teach and study. These projects will bring the north quad into alignment with the classical architecture of Christ Chapel, which was dedicated in 2019.
A northward expansion of Mossey Library commenced in spring 2025 and will be complete by fall 2027. It will offer 16,600 square feet of new student study and gathering spaces, much-needed space for archive and special collections display and storage, and a beautiful undercroft and grand stair leading to the East Lawn, where occasions like freshman convocation and commencement are held.
The PASC is working to fund the renovated circulation area in Hillsdale’s new North Library, an edifying space for students and faculty to gather and learn, in a building that will last for generations to come. Our goal is to raise $5 million toward the library expansion over the next four years.
Private Scholarships
For many years, Hillsdale parents and grandparents have generously supported private scholarship funding at Hillsdale College, which remains an area of significant need.
Private scholarship funding ensures Hillsdale’s total independence from all federal and state student grants and loans—and the government interference that comes with them. Hillsdale must continue to offer privately funded aid in an increasingly competitive higher education environment.
Support for scholarships can come in many forms. Parents may choose to donate to the general scholarship endowment, or the Student Independence Grant and Loan Fund (SIGLF), through which Hillsdale replaces all federal and state student aid. Gifts can also be made to specific scholarship funds, such as athletic team scholarships, music scholarships, the Frederick Douglass Scholarship for high-achieving students with significant financial need; for students in special programs like the shooting sports, museum studies, and sacred music; and many more. For a minimum gift of $100,000, parents or grandparents may establish a named scholarship endowment that will provide awards in perpetuity.
State Scholarship Initiative
Several Hillsdale parents have pioneered to establish an endowed scholarship for students from each state of the union. A minimum of $100,000 must be raised for each state, which will produce at least a $5,000 annual scholarship in perpetuity. There is no limit to the endowment for each scholarship, and a larger endowment will result in larger scholarships available to multiple students. Contributions of any size and from any number of parents count toward the $100,000 minimum goal.

Parent-to-Parent Phonathon
The Parent-to-Parent Phonathon takes place twice a year just prior to Fall and Spring Parents Weekends. Parents come to campus and call current parents, past parents, and grandparents to solicit their contributions
Enter the Hillsdale College Educational Cruise Raffle!
The 2026 Hillsdale College Cruise will explore the Fjords of Norway, roundtrip from Copenhagen. The Parents Association Steering Committee is pleased to announce that it is selling 300 raffle tickets at $300 each for the all-inclusive cruise for two on June 11-21, 2026!
The prize package includes a roundtrip airfare and stateroom for two aboard the Silversea Silver Dawn. The prize also covers the federal gift tax. Enjoy our seminars at sea with distinguished scholars while experiencing a trip of a lifetime! A portion of the proceeds goes towards scholarships.
