The University Development Foundation Welcomes Hillsdale College to Placer County

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College is pleased to announce the reception of a generous gift from The University Development Foundation (UDF) to establish an educational center in Placer County, California. This partnership is Hillsdale’s first step toward opening a center on the West Coast.

World War II Propaganda Posters Exhibited at Hillsdale College

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The art exhibit “Fighting on the Homefront: Propaganda Posters of World War II” opened in the College’s Daughtrey Art Gallery on Friday, Jan. 14, and will be displayed through Tuesday, Feb. 15. The poster exhibit is on loan from the Detroit Historical Museum and features visual advertising that the U.S. government leveraged during World War II.

Hillsdale College’s WRFH Named Finalist for Best College/University Radio Station

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College’s WRFH/Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM has been named a finalist at the national Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Awards for “Best College/University Radio Station (under 10,000 students).” This is the first time the College’s student-run radio station has been be named a finalist in this category.

College Announces First Cohort for the Kehoe Family Initiative for Entrepreneurial Excellence

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College announces the launch of the Kehoe Family Initiative for Entrepreneurial Excellence (KFIEE), a five-semester program for Hillsdale College students who aim to join the free market as entrepreneurs after they graduate. Students of all majors were invited to apply during the Fall 2022 semester.

Student Dance Company Tower Dancers Hosts Third Annual Concert

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Tower Dancers, the resident student dance company at Hillsdale College, hosted its third annual concert in Markel Auditorium on Dec. 5. The concert featured performances by two guest artists, four faculty members, one student, and a performance by the Liturgical Dance Ensemble.

Hillsdale College hosts “Reviving American Classical K-12 Education” Tele-Townhall

HILLSDALE, Mich. — On Thursday evening, Hillsdale College hosted its annual classical education tele-townhall. This year’s topic was “Reviving American Classical K-12 Education.” More than 13,000 people from across the country participated in the call, which lasted one hour.

Hillsdale College Hosts Fifth Annual Blue Christmas Service

HILLSDALE, Mich. — On Dec. 6, Hillsdale College’s Blue Christmas service in Christ Chapel offered a place of worship to those whose suffering supersedes the joy that is culturally paramount this season. The ecumenical service, which included Scripture lessons and prayers specifically for those who grieve, was open to students, faculty, staff, and their families.

Hillsdale College Opens New Academy for Science and Freedom

HILLSDALE, Mich. — To combat the recent and widespread abuses of individual and academic freedom made in the name of science, Hillsdale College is establishing its Academy for Science and Freedom. The Academy, which will operate out of Hillsdale’s campus in Washington, D.C., will educate the American people about the free exchange of scientific ideas and the proper relationship between freedom and science in the pursuit of truth.

Hillsdale College Symphony Orchestra Gives Two Weekend Performances in Christ Chapel

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The College Symphony Orchestra gave two-weekend performances in Christ Chapel on Nov. 20-21. The orchestra, directed by Professor of Music James A. Holleman, performed Ravel’s Piano Concerto in D Major (for the Left Hand), arias by Mozart and Dvorak, Sibelius’s “Finlandia” and Respighi’s “Fountains of Rome.”

Labin Duke Named Executive Director of the Blake Center for Faith and Freedom

Somers, Conn. — Hillsdale College is pleased to announce that Labin Duke will serve as the first executive director of the Blake Center for Faith and Freedom. With more than 10 years of experience working for non-profit, Christian organizations, Duke will guide the College’s religious, educational, and outreach efforts in Somers, Connecticut.
