Hillsdale College Marketing Department Wins CASE Circle of Excellence Award

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Marketing Department at Hillsdale College received a Gold Circle of Excellence Award in Design – Specialty Pieces from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education for its online learning DVD box sets. The annual competition received more than 4,500 entries from institutions in 28 countries.

Hillsdale College Receives A+ Financial Health Grade From Forbes

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The financial health of Hillsdale College received an A+ grade in its 2022 College Financial Health Grades report issued by Forbes. Hillsdale was one of 14 schools to receive a perfect 4.50 financial GPA and one of 31 schools to receive an A+.

Live Taping of The Byron York Show with Mollie Hemingway

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Mollie Hemingway, senior journalism fellow at Hillsdale College, joined Byron York for a live taping of The Byron York Show on June 15 at the Allan P. They discussed “The 2022 Election: The Status of Election Integrity in America and What the Republicans Should Do if they Win.” This event was co-sponsored by Ricochet, a conservative audio-on-demand service.

Incoming Hillsdale College Freshman Wins Gold Medal at World Shotgun Championship

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Incoming Hillsdale College freshman Jordan Sapp, of Phoenix, Arizona, earned a gold medal in the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany, on May 18. Sapp, who has committed to the Hillsdale College shotgun team, helped the United States team win six medals.

Van Andel Graduate School of Government Celebrates First Graduating Class

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College’s Van Andel Graduate School of Government in Washington, D.C., celebrated its first graduating class on Saturday, May 7. Caitlin Burke, Steve Schaefer, and Bridget Weisenburger each received their Master of Arts in Government degree at the main campus graduation ceremony.

Hillsdale College Grants Honorary Degrees at Commencement Ceremony 2022

HILLSDALE, Mich. — At its 170th annual Commencement ceremony on May 7, Hillsdale College awarded an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters degree to psychologist and author Jordan B. Peterson, who addressed the graduating class of 2022, and an honorary Doctorate of Business to entrepreneur Bill Atherton. Hillsdale College President Larry P. Arnn awarded both honorary degrees.

Peterson, author, clinical psychologist, and professor emeritus at University of Toronto, delivered the keynote address, and the College conferred honorary degrees and recognized top academic graduates.

Michigan Supreme Court Hears Oral Arguments on Hillsdale College Campus, Hosts Local Students as Part of Community Outreach Program

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College hosted the Michigan Supreme Court’s 26th Community Connection outreach program on April 26 in Plaster Auditorium. The seven justices of the Michigan Supreme Court heard oral arguments and met with students at a reception following the case. The program aims to help local high school and college students understand the appellate court and Michigan’s judicial system.
